About

I chose to research Japan because it is a country I have strong personal and cultural ties to. Japan’s history, language, and traditions have always been important to me, and studying its physical geography has helped me better understand how the natural environment influences daily life and culture.

Mission

One interesting aspect of Japan’s physical geography is its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire. Because Japan sits on multiple tectonic plate boundaries, it experiences frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity. These natural processes have shaped the landscape, created fertile soils, and influenced how cities are built and prepared for natural hazards.

Vision

The prophet Alma taught that “all things denote there is a God” (Alma 30:44). Earth testifies of the existence of a Supreme Creator through its order, motion, and complexity. In Japan, the precise movement of tectonic plates, the balance of climate systems, and the predictable patterns of Earth’s processes reflect purposeful design rather than randomness. Studying these systems strengthens my appreciation for both science and faith, showing how Earth’s natural laws work together in harmony.
